Everybody’s Mom

Probably saved from a trip to the abattoir, Sukkah is another auction rescue. She is the gentlest and sweetest of horses. We don’t know what breed she is, but she has the coat of a teddy bear and the voice of a donkey, and she steals everyone’s heart.

She doesn’t have a name when she arrives, so we need to pick one. When it becomes apparent that she is everyone’s Mom in the field, settling disputes and looking after Cookie who becomes her best friend, we decide to call her Sukkah after the temporary hut built as a shelter for gatherings during the holiday of Sukkot.

Cookie dies first, and Sukkah is not the same after her little wingman is gone.
